16. Aquamarine – Protection
As we are experiencing the unseasonable warmth that usually occurs much later in the season, I thought it might be wise to examine a stone with cooling and calming properties. Aquamarine is just the stone to fit the bill!
Aquamarine evokes the purity and relaxation of the sea. Ancient legend believed it to be the treasure of mermaids and a stone of eternal youth and happiness. Its name comes from Latin ‘aqua marina’ meaning ‘water of the sea’ and it was used by sailors to provide protection and fearlessness.
Aquamarine helps to balance excessive anger or fear and can assist in clearing patterns caused by past emotional, physical or verbal abuse.
Some of the benefits include: facilitating communication, assisting in releasing old patterns of behavior or clearing stagnant energy.
Aquamarine is a stone we can utilize all summer to bring cooling and calming into our world, especially if the current weather conditions are any indication of the days to come.
